Do you mean the centre gearbox?
The parts that run through the chassis plate holding the 2 speed and lower transfer gears?
If so I don't think you'll have much lick unless you can get somebody to machine one for you?
I'd probably be interested in one though if you find one let me know. |

I run mine with a pair of .28s on it and never known the centre gearbox to move or flex... you sure it's not broken or cracked at one of the tabs...?
The only guy I can thing of that might make one of those would be BarnBurner or maybe mazakwiz.
0700 only works with Ti I think.... although you could guarantee that the design would be awesome ifhe did make some - come on Eric you know it makes sense..... |

if you run twins they hold the trans, sandwiched between the drives
I`ve got a deluxe with one .32, its pushing to the right side real bad
trans post are flexing almost an 1/8 of an inch
I tried putting the motor a little tighter and wiped out a trans bearing
does BarnBurner or mazakwiz have a web site? |

I've seen them melt, and have seen ONE guy get his machine shop to make an aluminum version...but it was one off.
Trouble with these trucks, since their getting older, people don't want to make NEW parts for them.
I would check the steel post inside the plastic and make sure they are not bent...or try a larger clutch bell. With the .32, you could probably go single speed, not sure if those would even help..
Stock chassis is pretty soft as well....... |

Maybe we could make up a plate (or maybe two plates) that would go underneath the top section of the mounts but above the chassis (where the 4 bolts hold it all onto the chassis plate) this would maybe stiffen up the mount points. After all there is only four smallish plastic tabs holding the complete plastic assembly in the chassis plate!
It's tricky adding stuff in here though because the distance between the upper and lower shaft is so critical to the transfer gears mesh correctly.
I'm guessing it would only need to be the center sections of the mounting plastic that needs to be strengthened, as these are the parts that are mounting to the chassis and must be the ones offering movement.
The dowels that run from top to bottom could be bent but that would have taken a hell of a lot of doing, they're hardened aren't they? Would Ti be of any benefit here? not sure on the comparisons between rigidity between steel and Ti......? |

| Could be possible to make a plate to fix to top of engine and then top of transfer box, then the engine pulling would pull the mesh closer on the clutch. Look a bit of a mess though.... |

I realise that - problem is getting one made isn't it.
I know that I'd be in for at least 3 if they were available, (Ideally one in blue ) |

been looking at it alot
looks like the aluminum chassis is flexing along with the plastic tabs
was thinking about braces from the sides to the top of the trans might fix it |

Get two brackets made up from Alu or similar to place against the side of the transmission on the opposite side to the clutch bell. they would need to be at 90deg to the transmission and ideally be located at the same points as the chassis mounts (maybe even be able to use the same mount hole)
Iwould give them 2 bolts through the chassis into the brace.
The brace would then have to continue over the top of the transmission and bolt on top of the centre brace.
this is awkward - I'll draw a picture: give me a minute to sketch it and upload it someplace...
forgive the rudimentary nature of the image - I only have a mickey mouse CAD package to play with today :)
Hopefully this gets the idea across though..? I realise you'd have to do some jiggery pokery to get the other stuff on the chassis plate as well but it would certainly reduce the flex |

that would work ,exept throttle servo is in the way
what about putting a brace from the top of the trans to the throttle servo mounting plate |
