Trigger Happy suggests:
Keep it off the floor. keep it at room tempuature. NEVER leave the cap off more than it takes to refuel. Keep it out of sun light or any other light. Put a towel over it or something.
Newman adds:
The prefered way is to store fuel in a metal cabinet of some sort, or in an enclosed wooden cabinet or even in an old plastic ice chest. Keep it in a consistantly cool place where the temp remains mostly constant but cool. Best to store it at 50-60f when possable. Do NOT store it in the top of a closet or cabinet. Heat rises and causes fuel to expand, often ruining the cap seal.
Keep the bottle covered with dark plastic or in a dark place out of light. Plastic bottles tend to break down from UV rays after about 6 months when exposed to bright light. |
