The guy told me it was a Hyper 7. Is there any way to tell what model it might be. Most of it looks like th manual pics and others that have posted pics, except the engine looks different and the remote is definitely differnt (came to me with a futaba am remote).

Post some pics. What makes a buggy is the chassis not the engine or Tx.
