Hi all.
After a multi-year hiatus from surface nitro (went over to helicopters), I am picking up surface nitro again.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the most powerful 6V NiMH hump pack that they have found on the market that will fit into the radio box of an Ofna LX Comp 2 buggy.
I have been using 4 AA 2300 mAh batteries, but they seem to underpower the servos, particularly the steering servo, which is a Hitec 645. Since 4 AA batteries equates to only 4.8V, I now want to try 6V solution.
So far, I have found a 6V hump pack that is 2000 mAh. Has anyone found a pack that has a higher mAh rating? Also, do multi-cell NiMH hump packs now offer balance charging like multi-cell LiPo packs do?
Lastly, has anyone been using LiPo batteries to power their receivers? I would prefer to use LiPos, but they put out voltages in increments of 3.7V. At 7.4V, I do not know how to get them to work with a 6V max receiver. If anyone has a working solution that he has personally and successfully tried, please describe it.
Take care.
