I have a GTP-2 and it has a blue two tip muffler on it and the other day i took it off to clean it and i noticed it comes apart so of course i took it apart and it has the adjustments on the tip end. I just wondered what would happen if i took the spring and cup completely out of the pipe would it give me better performance or just be louder and no gains of anysort.

In this 2 cycle engines the pipe is part of the engine or play a big roll in the performance of the motor. There is different pipes some are for bottom end other for mid range and so on. WHat kind of performance you can get out of it?, you may get better bottom or better top, you just have to try and see what happens. No every pipe will do the same job in any engine.
