has any one fitted a hyper 8 radio tray to there st if so does it fit pretty easy or is there a lot of holes to be drilled

It can work but it would take some modding to fit it, for one the size of the spur is going to give you some problem as the radio tray sits lower on on the buggy vs. the truggy then go from there.
