Hi

Hope someone can help. I have a Hyper 7 TQ Sport. When I'm on about mid throttle and open it up to full throttle it just splutters and cuts out. Is this a symptom of being too lean on the main jet or too lean ? Its a new glow plug fitted and was doing this on the last one fitted. Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

Yes, it sounds lean. Try opening the high speed needle (not a jet exactly, but the large needle in the brass housing pointing up from the carb and near the fuel inlet nipple) about 1/4 turn and then see. Maybe a bit more if it's still cutting out. Make sure it's rich enough you see blue smoke during a wide-open throttle run, and if the engine is sounding like it wants to blow-up (screaming), it's still probably too lean.

It may also be lean if the fuel tank isn't pressurizing. Look for air leaks in pressure line, cracks in fuel tank, loose exhaust, and bad o-ring on fuel tank cap.
