Yes, it sounds lean. Try opening the high speed needle (not a jet exactly, but the large needle in the brass housing pointing up from the carb and near the fuel inlet nipple) about 1/4 turn and then see. Maybe a bit more if it's still cutting out. Make sure it's rich enough you see blue smoke during a wide-open throttle run, and if the engine is sounding like it wants to blow-up (screaming), it's still probably too lean.
It may also be lean if the fuel tank isn't pressurizing. Look for air leaks in pressure line, cracks in fuel tank, loose exhaust, and bad o-ring on fuel tank cap. |
