I had idle gap set too small and bottom too lean, now it purrs no flamming, so far swweet engine! The JL has everything you could want in an engine, power, good on fuel, low cost. I have about four gallons on my first JL and it still has mechanical pinch and tons of compression so it has longevity as well. I have had a few racers comment about how powerful it is in my Hyper 9. My JL has been getting 8-9 mins per tank during full race conditions. I really like these engines and picked up another to run for the 2010 season. The JL runs great with os p4 plugs and jp-3 pipe or the 086 high speed pipe.
