Yes I have tried them but I hope to do some back to back testing this weekend. They do look very good, lets see how they work.

i think they work great!
8 holes insted of 4! just like two holes better then one!!! 
though the top row should be used with the new arms and the bottom holes used with the older arms!
if you use the new arms in the bottom holes you dont get any upward movment! |

Now what was the point to new rear low arms? I never heard of anyone saying anything bad about them.
I might of missed it(been busy) but is there a new front tower as well or no? |

I guess I missed the arms and shock tower when I looked earlier. They are available in the US. |

The Whole Hobao team in Australia ran the towers and arms at the South Australian State titles the past 5 days, we all liked them, they handled the bumps very well.
You definately need to use the upper mounting holes on the tower.

So Josh you'd say to run the new arms you have to run the new shock tower? |

definately!
othewsie the rideheight will be too high and you wont be able to make it lower. the new arms are flat and they raise the mount spot for the shock, and the new tower does the same so that you have a nice rideheight.
Just make sure you check your rideheight with a ruler because having the flat arms you need to run it very low, or it looks like that anyways. |

hi im selling my hyper 9 fully hopped up with every option part that is shown in the john howells pics loads of new spares new bottom arm front arms tower brakes loads and loads mint condition 3 shells il post pics pm for offers!
remember all hopups found on the gl 9.5 2.0 look at the pics same as the team hobao drivers!!!  |

I plan to do back to back testing on Monday with the flat arm versus the older arm.
I made the straight change when the Hobao team went to the last major meet of last year. We all made the change so it was hard to say what the difference was. Cars felt very good on that track, might of had slightly better bump handling and more rotation then normal, which was of benefit. But its hard to say.
The main benefit is the ground clearance. When inspecting my lower arms i noticed they use to rub allot. I got my dad to drive around the track and found in a few circumstances the arm would rub causing the buggy to slow allot and even hook around.
In terms of handling, well technically your CG is higher, but i doubt its of noticeable amounts. The shock is also now technically located closer to the centre of the tire, so it should react quicker to tire movement, but that's just a theory.
Will report back with a nice big post (like the ones i make on the shock pistons topic) with the findings. Also made a few more setup changes that were suggest by a new team member (Josh Pain), and WOW!!! made the car 0.5 a lap quicker with more to come. Have a race day on Sunday and private practice on Monday for testing.

i must say i find it funny that this conversation is going on anyway i have now swapped rides to the rc8b which i have found to be a more aggressive and stable ride its a shame as i loved the hyper 9 gl but there were to many upgrades needed to make the car competitive.  so if anyone in the uk is after a gl or any of the hopups spoken about in this thread give me a pm pleanty of new spares too thanks. |

Josh seems to be doing well at the Worlds warm-up 17th overall. What other things has he recommended? |
