Hello, I was wondering what class I can race this car if the local track is using roar rules. I am new and having trouble figuring what class I can use this car in. Thanks By the way there are alot of tc5 and Losi JRXS Type R, Is this car in the same spec class ?

To run in stock touring or 13.5 class the wheel hexes will need to be trimmed down. (for 190mm)

The car is 195mm so you only need to shave 5mm off the total. which ends up being only 2.5mm or 1/10th of an inch per drive hex, not much at all just make sure the hexes in your rim are shallow enough to allow this with out the rim rubbing on the hubs, the ofna rims that come in the kit will work and so will any race slick mounted on jaco rims, not sure on the other brand rims and i dont have any here to look at.

I have to run hpi wheels, Do you know if they will work ?

Thanks guys. I just got into rc in july and I love it. But the locals arent much help. They just say buy a tc5 or losi. Nice cars just not in my budget and I like to be diffrent :)

Any motor / esc combo you recommend ?
I currently only own a 10.5 turn novak for my offroad
buggy

In RCGT I am running a KO speed control and an Epic Duo2 17.5 Jeffrey Lin runs that combination also.

You need to figure out what class you want to run.

Im currently running a speed passion 17.5 with a tekin Esc

different classes will require different motor choices.

What type of track surface will you be racing on? David S has a setup that pretty much works everywhere with minor changes, your typical touring car setup most of the locals are using most likely wont work on the jl-10. for exapmle at my tack most people run 35wt shock oil all the way around and in the jl-10 we are using 60wt front and 40wt rear.

Will be racing on carpet. I have posted a link below witch lists the rules at the track for t/c racing. If you wouldnt mind take a look and tell me what you think? I am pretty sure there wont be many people there willing to help with setups. I am hoping to use my lipos because there is a big disadvantage using nimh batts. Ah the transam class, i used to run this class last year and it was a ton of fun. the one issue with the car is the only 31mm rears are 6mm offset, way to much for the jl10, the only option i see is to run the 26mm's all the way around, no where in the rules does it state you must run rears in the rear and fronts in the front so im sure youll be fine running front 26mm in the rear. Unless of course you find a vintage body that is 210mm in the rear as there are a few out there, ie i think some of the camaros and corvettes are 210mm rear. If you want to run lipo i would suggest getting the tekin 21.5/RS combo. being you are limited to a fairly high final drive of 4.2 the tekin with its "turbo" feature to really wind the motor on the straightaway you would just have to get the tekin hotwire to be able to plus the esc into your computer to update the firmware to unlock the turbo option. Also the easiest way to run a 4.2 final drive is gonna be run a 86t 64p spur and a 51t 64p pinion If you want PM me you email and i can send you a setup sheet with our standard setup and im sure dave can chime in as what springs to use as a starting point on carpet.

here are the two 210mm rear bodys that i found, i know there are a few more out there just kinda hard to find. with the ofna and running the 6mm offset vintage rear rims it will be at 207mm in the rear, should sit very flush and look awsome, plus that should give you a ton of rear end stability. I personally only run Precision Racing Systems spurs and pinions. in my opinion they are the best around. can be found at amain.com. ive heard of people having issues with the center hole on robinsons being too small to fit the spur holder. Also just a tip, set the mesh very carefully on this car and retighten the motor holder screws after a few min of running as the metal "relaxes" and can slide a little. usually only have to do that once after each time i change my gearing

Never heard of that company before. I will look them up though. I still set the mesh the same as a 1/10th buggy ? I have never seen such gear ratios, I am used to like 20/86. lol That cuda body looked to good, had to order 2nite .
