So I have replace the pull start 2 times already. The string always break around the handle. First time was user error. With the secon pull start I never pulled hard when flooded. I was easy with it. I have ordered a rotostart for my mach 28 motor which has never run. 2 questions. Is the string on the picco a known weakness? When I took the pullstart off of the mach it looked more heavy duty. 2nd question. I dont want a shaft start for the picco. I want a rotostart where I can reach t from the top. Ofna website shows a rotostart for a picco however when I emailed them they said use a shaft start. One other thing. When I pulled the pull start off of the licco there was a lot of gunk there. Looked like fuel was lrleaking into the pull start. Maybe the string being saturated in nito weakens the string. Is that normal? Thank you

The pullstart string on the Picco pull-starts are generally good.

The torque start is a hex drive and access is from the top.
It is part#50633

The rotostart is a "dogbone" drive. The access is from the rear.

Excessive fuel in the pull start area can be a very rich mixture forcing fuel out the backplate bushing at the pullstart axle shaft. Or a worn backplate bushing, and pullstart axle.
Some fuel seepage is normal.
