Hello, i am new here, got a Hyper 8.5 pro at the moment. I learned driving with this car so its pretty messed up. I am planning to buy a Hyper 9 GL next month. I knew the 8.5s weak points so i mostly had the spares for that one.
Question here is wich are the essential spares i should have for the Hyper 9? Shock towers seems thin, how are plastics? the lower arms? Once i smashed my 8.5 on a metal pillar of a fence, only my shock got damaged, but no plastics...
some peeps suggest i should go for a Mugen, since parts are easy to get cause one of the members is a reseller. But mugen really aint my brand sorta so... gonna go for the Hyper. |

Keep the Hyper!
Shock tower are very strong, really dont need spares, much better than 8.5s
Diff o-ring, very important, stock up on them, never hurts to have extra front arms. The 9 was pretty weak at first, but all this has been remedied, it is now just as strong as the 8.5 ever was!
Have fun and take down some Mugens  |

I've found the Hyper to be fairly strong......
Until I drove it in the cold (40 deg.) and had the rear hub carrier break just from landing jumps. Then later in the morning the rear diff case snapped off where the rear tower meets the case.
Other than those parts, I haven't had a problem.  |

if you plan to race on a regular basis i would suggest you stock on a few items
front arms rear arms
front and rear shock shafts + shock rebuild kits
drive axles fr and rear
hinge pins upgrade to titanium
spare tank
center drive shafts
motor mounts for back up motor
clutch bearings
full bearing kit for the whole car
tony's screws for the hyper 9
clutch set for back up motor |
