(Tony) Knauth driving an RB powered Hyper 9 takes out the 2009 OCR Nitro Champs Series (Darwin), ahead of Shaun Rawlings running a Force powered XB8 EC, narrowly holding out Sergio Manalvo - MBX6 - OS, second and third outright seperated by only 1 point after close to 600 laps of hard racing.

Ryper Hobbies Pro-Am Cup, held yesterday (Sunday) at Whiteman Park Raceway - Mike Hurley easily took 1st place in the Amatuer class with his Hyper 9, his first time on a clay track with the buggy (we have a grass and a clay track here in sunny Perth).
I qualified 13th (out of 51 buggy entries) to make it into the 'Pro' drivers final with my hyper 9, and finished a respectable 9th (out of 15 starters). Which may not sound so good, but its a step up for me! I usually end up in the 'B' or 'Sportsmans' class. |

| Hyper team did very good at the Kyosho fall classic at Revelation, Randy Kung go the TQ in amatuer Louie Fernandez started second along with Jason Kung starting 5th for the A-main. It was a long race but in the end Louie Fernandez got the win on the last lap with one turn to go spectacular finish. Congrates to our drivers for getting the Tq,win and making the A-main. |

Josh Tailor dominated the final round of the Wings over whitman race here in Aus this weekend. his car was flying.
Logan Brucher was also putting in some super fast laps.
Both drivers were doing very well, and getting faster all the time. |

Well done to Kortz for his first place at the Toys for Tots event held this past weekend and beating Drake by 1.9sec. Its good to see the Hyper 9 finally winning at some of these bigger events.
Also noticed that his buggy was referred to as a HOBAO and not OFNA and also he was sporting Hobao clothing aswell. |

Fresh (well kinda) from Neobuggy.net
Great showing from Kortz!
This years Toys for Tots race was hailed as a great success; 19 sponsors supported the race and some very giving people helped to raise money for less fortunate kids. The raffle raised $940 and along with a very full SUV went to the US Marines for their great fund raising organization! In buggy BCE/Mugen driver Dylan Rodriguez TQ'd whilst Jeremy Kortz, fresh from last weekend's ROAR electric champs win kept the good run going edging out Adam Drake by 1.9 secs. Tamiya driver Ryan Lutz bumped into the A-main having won the C & B mains (due to engine issues during quali) and finished a confident 3rd. In truggy expert Drake took the win with Dylan Rodriguez 2nd and Ryan Lutz once again in 3rd. In the electric class, Travis Amezcua won the 10 min A-main, crossing the finishing line 1.8 secs ahead of new Team Associated signing Steven Hartson, Jeremy Kortz rounded out the podium in 3rd. Kortz also won the Short Course Open class, but with 8 drivers it wasn't much of a challenge. Lastly a shout out to Ryan Pavidis (Pavidis Jr!) who finished 3rd in the "12 and under Bash" A-main. |

Preparing some stats for our clubs annual awards dinner this weekend - For Buggy total laps of the year (all laps counted, including dropped rounds), Hyper 9's were 1st, 3rd and 5th overall (out of 132 buggy drivers who did some laps this year).
Just goes to show how committed the Hyper 9 drivers are! |

The Hyper 9's were looking excellent this weekend at the AKA Tyres Western Australian Championships.
Team Hobao drivers Josh Taylor, Josh Pain, and interstater Andrew Foord all had their buggys dialled, and looked super smooth and consistent on the track. Josh Taylor had an almost flawless weekend, as did Andrew. Unfortunately Painy had many drama's with his motor during the weekend, and it was disappointing to see him flame out (again) after only 13 laps of the A Final as it was shaping up to be a good battle with eventual winner Martin Wolhuter (Hong Nor), with them going lap for lap on each others tail. Logan Bruecher also did well considering his lack of track time lately, qualifying 10th and just missing out on the bump up to the main final by 1 lap.
All in all, a good weekend - well done boys!
Buggy Podium - Martin Wolhuter (Hong Nor); Josh Taylor (Hobao); Andrew Foord (Hobao)

Hey
If anyone is wondering, Josh Pain is at the Worlds Warm up race with the Hyper 9.
He is going pretty good, got the car set up well. Unfortunately his tires are stuck in customs in Thailand at the moment. He is currently running the complete wrong tire which one that track will loose you buckets of time. Was quicker earlier in the event, but track changes have meant tires have hurt him.
He qualified 17th overall. Hoping to get the tires in time for his semi final, so should be on pace for a finals place fingers crossed. |
