Is there a kit available to tighten up the steering linkage for the DM1 Spec.
I have some play in the linkage, not excessive, but would like to tighten up some of the play.
Other than that, the car is great.

Hi Dave, This is Bill C.
I just checked the car out and found that most of the play is in the hinge pins and the upper arms. The catser clips are tight, so that is not the ploblem, but when the upper arms are moved, you can see the play in the arms and hinge pins The arms have never been changed due to hitting anything, so the pins and arms are factory pieces. Both sides are equal in movement. Also, I have heard that some of the guys have tried a Centax style clutch. Are these working on such a heavy car?

Hey Bill. sounds like the upper arms are worn. My DM is like that.
As far as a centax clutch, some people tried them but they didn't seem to last.
The Jl clutch works pretty good I'm using it. |

Thanks Dave, I would like to try that clutch for mine also. The car now is amazing sense you worked on it. I have the upper arms and will change them out. Where can I pick up the clutch and needed items for the change over.

The Part number for the complete clutch assy is 10107
or you can use 10105 and 10108 with your exsisting flywheel.
You can get those items @ Nitrohouse, or you can get Kamikaze to order them for you.
I know I got to get those bodies to you. |

Got the upper arms changed out, and this took about 75% of the slop out of the front end. I think the rest is pretty much standard movement as you would not want the steering linkage too tight. I have three new sets of arms<front and rear> and found that the new arms are not threaded.
I just cleaned them up with the correct drill bit, and they work perfectly. Is this normal for the new arms not to be threaded? Just let me know when we can hook up and I will get the bodies from you. Thanks for the help Dave. I am having a blast with the DM1, and even more so sense you worked on it. thanks again |

Yes the arms are not threaded.
I know your DM-ONE Spec works great. Even on a soft track your car is easy to drive. |
