What are the advantages either way for running a spool or diff in the center?

So with the spool you can't adjust your brake bias? You get equal braking power to both ends with a spool?

| On high bite tracks a spool is great. On loose dirt or a slick track you can greatly benefit from using a center diff so that you can adjust brake bias either towards the front or the rear to keep the car stable going into the turns. I try to dial in as much brake as I can use without locking up the tires. So you can usually put a little more to the front as the weight transfer while braking will give the front a little more bite and the rear less creating a situation where adjustable front/rear brake bias is usable. Remember a sliding or spinning tire has no direction. |
