well tonight... we didn't have a big crowd of racers just five guys in the sportsman class and five guys in the pro class I guess because of all the rain around the track... in the 1st qualf round I just manage to put one lap on the board (engine issues), I didn't run the 2nd qualf round because of more problems with the engine (picco evo2 rally).. so, I decided to swap engines to a v-spec and got 2nd place in the 3rd qualf iround.... now for the main they went ahead and put everybody together sportsman and pros, ten guys all together and it was a lot more fun than with just five guys., anyways... finished 1st on my class and 4th overall., this is my 2nd race ever... at my 1st race over a month ago I was leading all the way until I had a flame out but still got 3rd...

07/05/2008 Race # 2 - A Main - 1/8 Scale Pro

10 4 Bruce Reams 0 00:00:00.000 00:00.000 0 DNS

p.s.
it shows only 28 laps but, is because they were having transponder issues with the lap counter system.. I also went off the track by the lap counter sensor and never went around the counter again to get credit for the lap... I didn't want to let the pro guys get away from me....I was a lap down as well..

Sandbagger!!! You should have ran pro buggy class with me. You would have had a respectable finish.

J/K about being a sandbagger. You ran a good race. I thought that something looked funny with your buggy, I just couldn't tell what was wrong.

No problem man, Sandbagger comments joking are different then someone telling you that you ruined a race....

It was fun out there though, just not on Pro-Pace yet. Could have pulled off a 4th or 5th in pro, but no sponsor = sportsman thats what the pros told us...

The screws keep coming out of the shock post in the arm. I lock-tight / super glue, etc... not sure why they wont stay in.

Can't stop thinking about your milled chassis, now I see NitroHouse did one complete under 7lbs..

Thanks 30! I actually just started racing in April of this year. Just can't get over my nerves enough to hold my own to bump up yet.
I'm working hard on it though! Gotta love it!

I had a similiar issue on my Hyper 8. The screws would come loose on the shock/arm. I have never had an issue with the 8.5 though. It seems that the arms that came on the 8.5 were tighter there. The screws go in a little harder. You might try some new arms.

The chassis work that I did has helped. I had to make some changes to the set-up because of it. I figured a few things out at the end of the weekend. I should have cut more of the chassis similiar to what Nitrohouse did.

You do know that the screw on one side is a left hand thread, and the other is right hand thread? If you have them in round the right way, they shouldn't come undone on their own - unless at some stage you have mixed them up and screwed them in, which would presumably ruin the thread in the plastic and make the whole a tad bigger...

The screws have different threads..?? dang I didnt know that. It did seem one side never tightened up, would go in super tight, but just spin once inplace.

Some good runs from you guys. I wish I was able to say something about my runs. But taking the summer off....I have bigger fish to fry right now so racing is not just something I can do right now.

But before I hung up the radio for the summer. I did pull down a win with the ST and 8.5 at a club race in Lincoln,IL. To bad my luck did not carry over to the next day for the state pro series race.

I hate the luck I have had since getting these cars. I was able to figure out very early that they can run with the big dogs. But lady luck has not been on my side at the start of this season. Loc-tite not holding, blown motors, broken radios and bad tires.

I hope I am able to stay on the team even with my time away from racing since May. If not,I still plan to run what I have and pimp the Ofna cars to others. I have turned many heads with the buggy. It got the same respect as the CEN Matrix got when I brought that to the track. But that soon changed when people saw how fast it was with my GRP Ninja motor and how wicked it turned in the corners.

I cant wait to get back to the track and do it all over again!
