Do you guys have any tips for running in cold weather? I'm in the Northeast it's about 40 right now it'll be colder when I get the truck back together again. I guess my question is do I lean out the carb a bit to keep the truck going or what would you recommend? And also I've run electrics in the snow before just ballooned the reciever and esc, but with a nitro that has a sealed radio box are you guys against snow running or should I try it and just be careful????

Ask hybridom, he's in Canada. I know he's said something before about wrapping aluminium foil around the head and then stretching a baby sock over the head (with a hole in the top for the glow igniter) so the engine will stay warm.

I guess you will also need a hair drier so you can preheat the engine to make it easier to start.

Seal everything up good, make sure to watch your tune and invest in some WD-40. Make sure you flush the water out of the beraings before you put it up..

ok here is the "snow" setup i run in the winter....1. Balloon your radio box and servos......OR....use liquid electrical tape on all the seams and joints on your receiver and servos. 2. Get some real duct tape (aluminum with paper backing)...put it on the bottom 3 fins...this helps keep the heat in the glow plug area. 3. I do use baby socks on the cooling head....helps keep some heat in..and wind/snow out...just cut a little hole in the top for your ignitor.... 4. preheat your engine with a hair dryer/heat gun. 5. once you are finished playing in the snow make sure you dry everything off really well.....i put my rc's in the bathtub and hit them with a hairdryer....then i use wd-40 on all my bearings, cva's etc.

Right on. Thanks for the info, and Hybridom it hasn't snowed here yet but we have about 3" of rain today, 43 degrees out, so it's kinda cold. Remember I was in the ARMY spent some time in Iraq so anything below 50 is cold to me now. My CVA's came today!!!! Yeah!!!! once it stops raining I think I might have to run a couple of tanks through just for fun. I can't wait for the white stuff to fall I wanna see this Dom hit my favorite hill...

Man I've still got at least a year before I can use that excuse, my house won't be built till mid 07 but at least then I cut out the shoveling thing, moving to southern North Carolina, no more snow just sand, mud, rocks, and a nice pond on my property to run my R/C nitro hydroplane on... Can't wait.
