Does anyone have any wisdom to share with me on the advantages of the belt drive system as opposed to the shaft drive system? I have both choices in my cars and have not really noticed any performance gain or loss. As far as replacing and quick maintenance, the shaft drive is definitley more involved. I look to make 2 new purchases toward enhancing competiton. What would professional advice be toward belt to shaft and why?

I do believe It depends on what you are looking for. If you want a car that is
easy to clean and requires little maintenance, then choose a shaft
drive car
On the other hand, if you want a car that is lighter, try belt drive

* Shaft drive transmissions are smoother but heavier.
* Belt drive transmissions are lighter.
* Belt drive cars seem to be faster and more stable when cornering.
* Shaft drive cars seem to have higher top speeds.
* I prefer shaft drive transmissions because of the low
maintenance factor.
* Belt drive transmissions are more susceptible to damage from
small pebbles.
shaft is ease, belt is for racing

Yellow snow can be good if it comes from a snow cone stand.... but watch out where the huskies go and don't you eat that yellow snow! Thanks for your correspondence on the belt drive versus shaft drive. I currently have both, and it is a toss up wether there is any noticeable performance.
